The Government of Guam Retirement Fund ("GGRF") and the Public Auditor are soliciting proposals from a U.S. Certified Public Accountant firm for an audit of GGRF for Fiscal Years 2023, 2024, and 2025.

Guam OPA Awarded Technical Assistance Grant from Department of Interior

Public Auditor Benjamin J.F. Cruz is pleased to announce the Guam Office of Public Accountability (OPA) has been awarded a $76,000 Technical Assistance Program (TAP) grant by the U.S. Department of Interior Office of Insular Affairs.  The grant was awarded for OPA’s training and internship programs.

Guam OPA Announces Appointment of Accountability Auditor III

The Office of Public Accountability (OPA) announces the appointment of Maryann J.A. Manglona, CPA, as an Accountability Auditor III. Maryann joins the OPA after having served ten years as a Tax Examination Supervisor and Revenue Agent IV with the Department of Revenue and Taxation. Prior to joining the Government of Guam, she worked in the private sector for five years as a Senior Auditor with Ernst & Young LLP.

Full Compliance Rating for OPA's 2023 Review

The Office of Public Accountability recently underwent a peer review and received a full compliance rating with Government Auditing Standards issued by the Comptroller General of the United States. Audit organizations are required to undergo independent external quality control review every three years, commonly known as a peer review. Independent auditors from the Association of Pacific Islands Public Auditor conducted the peer review.

Guam OPA Staff Enhanced Facilitation Skills for Strategic Plan Development

The Pacific Association of Supreme Audit Institutions (PASAI) coordinated the Strategic Management Capabilities Programme workshop at the Rihga Royal Laguna Guam Resort, Tamuning, Guam. This event was attended by 14 staff from the public audit offices of Chuuk, Kosrae, Pohnpei, Palau, Tuvalu, and Guam.
